This pro-level mid-zoom in the f/2.8 NIKKOR Z trinity is a pure workhorse for any occasion

The NIKKOR Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S sits in the middle of the NIKKOR Z mount S-line professional f/2.8 trinity and just might be the one you keep going back to, whatever the scenario. With its advanced optics, extensive weather sealing and incredible ability up close, this is a pro-grade storyteller’s lens.

1. Zoom with your feet

Zoom lenses are great – you can just zoom in and out to get that perfect composition. But wait! Sometimes it’s better to set your ideal focal length for the image, getting the compression and/or distortion you want, then think of the lens as a prime lens and ‘zoom’ with your feet to get the right framing and try out some different views.

2. Make use of the LFn button

The LFn button on the NIKKOR Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S can be used to control any one of 21 functions on your camera. Try assigning one of your most used controls to it – subject detection on/off, AF lock or bracketing, for example – and you’ll never have to take your eye away from the EVF during a session.

3. Close in on your subject

With a minimum focus distance of just 38cm at all zoom positions, you can get really close to your subject with the NIKKOR Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S. Try close-ups at a range of focal lengths for different effects in your images and videos, going for accentuated features in a head shot at 24mm or beautiful, sharp detail of an object at 70mm.

4. Master filming styles

With minimal focus breathing and constant aperture through the zoom range, the NIKKOR Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S is a superb tool for video. Switch to manual focus and the smooth ring will allow you to completely control changes in a scene or let the AF do the work while you zoom in or out.
