Melanie's relationship with Nikon is one that began long before she ever considered photography as a profession. At just eight years old, a small Nikon camera sat among her toys, and she carried it to track and field competitions, family weddings, and every event she could attend, photographing everyone around her simply because she loved doing it. At eighteen, she received a Nikon D5500, a camera that grew alongside her through years of travel, personal projects, and evolving creative ambitions. What began as a way to document travel memories gradually transformed into a deeper practice once she turned her lens toward people and portraits. Today, Melanie shoots primarily with the Nikon Z6 II paired with the 24-70mm f/2.8, a combination she values for its versatility across both wide environmental shots and tighter portrait framing. She also works with a 105mm macro lens for its precision and the quality of its bokeh in close portrait work, and relies on the Nikon Z30 with the DX 12-28mm lens for lifestyle content and spontaneous everyday shooting. For Melanie, Nikon represents more than a tool; it reflects her entire journey as a photographer, from childhood curiosity to the creative path she continues to build.
