Publishing the photography book New Zealand: Im Land der weißen Wolke (In the land of the long white cloud) with National Geographic in 2024 brought Kristof Göttling’s work to the international stage. Combining his in-depth knowledge with his talent for travel photography, the coffee-table book became not only a success, but also a perfect showcase for his distinctive style, which he describes as “modern visual storytelling, shaped by light, atmosphere and emotion”.
Strong compositions matter to me, but technical perfection alone is never the goal. I want each photograph to carry a distinct mood, tell a story or simply make the viewer feel something.
